not sure what this is, it is on the platform next to the mile post in the previous photo. Any ideas greatly appreciated

From kevin at 2006-07-28 11:05:19 : the posts are the old boundry markers for the platelayers. there are two other sites with similar posts, one is between hattersley and broadbottom stations and between dinting and hadfield stations.
